Types of donation
To donate blood, the
blood group of the donor and recipient should be the same. There are 4 types of
blood groups: A, B, AB and O. These blood groups have the respective antigens
on RBC and the opposite antibody in plasma. If the antigen of the donor and the
antibody in the receiver is the same, it causes clotting of blood and the
person may die.
